Bulgarian Association of Sinologists

https://sinologists.bg/

Overview

Site for the Bulgarian Association of Sinologists, a voluntary academic association of scholars, researchers and translators working on Chinese language, history and culture, headquartered at Veliko Tarnovo University.
Built on an Elementor template, adapted to the association’s identity and content rather than used as-is.
Bilingual from the start, in English and Chinese — the audience is international, so the site had to address scholars outside Bulgaria as directly as those inside it.

WordPress with Elementor, giving the association a visual editor for pages they maintain themselves.
Polylang handling the English and Chinese versions, with a language switcher and separate URL structures per language.

Page content editable directly in Elementor, without developer involvement.
News and events manageable from the admin as the association’s programme develops.
Both language versions editable side by side through Polylang.

English and Chinese language versions, with a switcher in the main navigation.
News and events section covering conferences, lectures and association milestones.
Members section presenting the association’s scholars.
Resources section pointing to archives, databases and academic support for sinological study.
Gallery documenting the association’s events.
Social media integration linking Facebook, X, Instagram and YouTube.
Contact routes for scholars looking to join or collaborate.
